Sometimes you may need to update payment details. B-Cart allows you to edit manual payments that were recorded by a merchant. However, there are some restrictions to ensure accuracy and reliability of records.
What You Can Edit
You can update the following fields on a manual payment:
-
Payment Method – Update how the payment was made (e.g. Bank Transfer, Cash, etc.).
-
Status – Change the payment status (e.g. from Processed to Successful).
-
Reference – Add or update external references (e.g. EFTPOS ID, transaction code).
-
Notes – Update or add context to the payment (customers can see these notes).
What You Cannot Edit
-
Amount: The payment amount cannot be changed.
-
If the amount is incorrect, you should void the payment and create a new one with the correct amount.
-
-
External Payments: You cannot edit payments made through external systems, such as Stripe.
-
This is to preserve accuracy and ensure data reflects what was processed through those systems.
-
-
Locked Payment Statuses: Payments marked as any of the following cannot be edited:
-
Successful
-
Refunded
-
Cancelled
-
Voided
