B-Cart allows you to quickly preview your store exactly as a customer would see it — using your House Customer. This is useful for checking pricing, layout, ordering flow, and product visibility before your real customers start placing orders.
Why Use the House Customer to Preview?
The House Customer is automatically created when your account is set up.
It provides a safe environment to:
See how your store looks to buyers
Test the checkout process
Validate pricing rules and tiers
Confirm collections, delivery profiles, and product visibility
No emails or notifications are ever sent when placing test orders with the House Customer.
Important: You Can Only Preview Using the House Customer
For privacy and data integrity reasons, you can only view your store as the House Customer.
It is not possible to log in as any other customer from the admin portal.
However — you can customise the House Customer to simulate different customer experiences.
For example, you can assign the House Customer:
Pricing tiers
Delivery profiles
Customer tags
Discounts or special rules
This allows you to see how your store behaves for different customer configurations.
How to View Your Store as a Customer
Go to the Customers section in B-Cart.
Locate the customer named:
Your Organisation Name – House Customer
Click Log in as Customer.
You’ll be instantly switched into the storefront view.
From here, you can browse products, place test orders, and experience the full customer interface.
Placing Test Orders
You are free to place as many test orders as needed:
They will appear in your order list just like normal orders
No emails will be sent
If accounting sync is enabled, test orders can sync — so you may want to map the House Customer to a Cash Sales or Internal account in your accounting software
