You can remove custom tax rules at any time, but system rates (such as GST or GST Free) cannot be deleted.
Before You Remove a Tax Rule
Deleting a tax rule does not automatically remove it from existing products or orders.
If a product is still linked to that rule, the tax will continue to apply until it’s manually updated.
To safely remove a rule:
Go to your Products list.
Review which products are using the tax rule.
Update each product’s tax rule to a new or existing rate.
💡 If you need a full list of products using a specific tax rule, contact support.
We can provide a report or help you bulk update those products.
Important for Accounting Integrations
If you’re using connected accounting software (such as Xero, QuickBooks, or MYOB), make sure you also:
Remove or update the tax rule in your accounting platform.
Re-sync your products and orders to ensure tax consistency.
Once all linked products have been updated, you can safely remove the tax rule from Taxes → Delete.
